Educational Outreach Manager
Job Description
About the Company:
The EcoHero Show inspires 5-11-year-olds to become EcoHeroes through hip-hop, storytelling, and live performances that show how local actions can have a global impact. Each year, we partner with 80-90 city and county government sponsors who fully fund our programs, making them free to participating schools. Our work reaches thousands of students across California and beyond, helping to inspire the next generation of eco-leaders. Entirely remote, EcoHero fosters a collaborative, purpose-focused culture where creativity, impact, and teamwork drive everything we do.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Educational Outreach Manager with a passion for building relationships in the education sector and expanding access to sustainability programming. This role will be instrumental in developing partnerships with schools, districts, and community organizations across the U.S., with a particular focus on scaling our ticketed field trip concert model and supporting participation in our virtual and in-person programs. The ideal candidate will thrive in a remote, entrepreneurial environment, excel at creating systems that scale, and be driven by the opportunity to make environmental education engaging and accessible to students nationwide.
This is a Full-Time, remote role.
We are looking for an Educational Outreach Manager, specifically with these requirements:
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Strong experience working with K-12 schools, districts, or educational organizations
- Ability to build relationships with decision-makers at the school and district levels
- Experience in sales or outreach, preferably with education-related products or services
- Proven ability to create, refine, and execute outreach strategies and systems
- Highly organized, with strong time management and project management skills
- Confident decision-maker, able to self-prioritize and pivot as new information emerges
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Familiarity with U.S. school systems
- Experience using or willingness to integrate AI-based calling and emailing systems
Your responsibility will include (but not limited to):
- Owning outreach and booking for 500+ in-person and 1,000 virtual school programs in California each year, using phone, email, physical mail, and AI-powered systems
- Managing and coordinating schedules for 6+ in-person performers and 6 virtual performers, optimizing regional efficiency and minimizing costs
- Developing and launching scalable AI outreach systems (in collaboration with an agency or built internally) to support booking efforts across all programs
- Leading targeted outreach for Theatre Field Trip Concerts, collaborating closely with the Education Partnership Director and building partnerships with schools near venues to drive ticket sales
- Driving participation in the annual Earth Day Livestream Campaign, focusing on district leaders and classroom teachers to maximize nationwide signups
- Building and maintaining outreach processes, tools, and systems for booking, follow-up, and tracking through CRM and task management software
- Working closely with support staff (Sponsor Liaison, VA, EA, onboarding support, freelancers) and aligning with sponsor requirements and priorities
- Ensuring sponsor budgets are fully utilized by maximizing bookings within eligibility rules and filling as many show slots as possible
Growth Opportunities/Perks:
- Play a pivotal role in scaling a national educational initiative
- Opportunity to move into a senior leadership or strategy role as EcoHero grows
- Flexible, remote work environment with a supportive and mission-driven team
- Ability to design and implement your own systems and strategies for outreach success
- Make a measurable impact on environmental education and student engagement across the country
- Most school holidays are off and light work in the first month of summer break.
This Position Is Perfect For You If…
You’re a builder.
You thrive on creating systems, strategies, and partnerships from the ground up, and you’re excited to help scale new educational initiatives like our ticketed field trip concerts.
You’re mission-driven.
You care deeply about education and sustainability, and you’re passionate about helping students engage with environmental topics in fun, meaningful ways.
You’re super organized.
You can juggle multiple outreach campaigns and logistics while keeping everything on track and running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.
You’re persuasive but respectful.
You connect easily with educators and decision-makers, communicating with professionalism and confidence, always focused on creating win-win partnerships without being pushy.
Our hiring process is made up of four parts, so please be aware that you will need to dedicate time for a questionnaire, a video, and two 1-on-1 interviews.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this position. I look forward to hearing from you soon
