Head of Operations for a Digital Marketing Agency
Job Description
About the Company:
Our client is a results-driven digital marketing agency focused on helping local service businesses grow. They deliver predictable growth through a mix of Local SEO, Paid Ads, Social Media, and Website Design, backed by industry expertise and data-driven strategies. Their founder also created a leading Local SEO SaaS platform and agency coaching program, showcasing their innovation and focus on automation and scalable systems for measurable results.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a motivated, experienced Head of Operations who has actively built and improved systems while scaling an agency. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in fulfillment, delivery, and internal team performance, driving clarity and efficiency. We need someone who can move fast, wear multiple hats, and play a key role in our next phase of growth without constant oversight from the CEO.
This is a Full-Time remote position.
We are looking for a Head of Operations, specifically with these requirements:
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- 3+ years of Operational leadership managing operations in a start-up to a medium-sized digital marketing agency.
- Solid understanding of local SEO, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, conversion-focused web strategies, and the delivery systems that support them.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams (PMs, marketers, sales reps).
- Skilled in hiring, managing systems, and driving team accountability.
- Familiar with EOS; able to lead Level 10 meetings and standups.
- Capable of overseeing project timelines, resources, and execution.
- Track record of aligning delivery with profitability.
- Comfortable working with finance to monitor margins and operational health.
- Acts as an integrator alongside the CEO.
- Experience building teams focused on automation and AI.
- Proficient in ClickUp, Slack, and SOP-driven workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills for fixing bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Data-driven and calm under pressure, with a focus on reducing chaos.
Your responsibility will include (but not limited to):
- Manage all operational departments, including project management, marketing, sales, HR, and support functions.
- Own fulfillment and delivery workflows to ensure all client projects are completed on time, at a high standard, and with clear accountability.
- Run EOS processes, including Level 10 meetings, scorecard reporting, and issue tracking.
- Drive operational improvements by identifying bottlenecks, gaps, and inefficiencies—and leading the implementation of scalable systems and solutions.
- Oversee project managers and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring every team is aligned, responsive, and following best practices.
- Track and report key metrics around project delivery, client satisfaction, profitability, and team performance.
- Hold team members accountable through task tracking, follow-through, and ClickUp visibility.
- Proactively surface risks or breakdowns, and solve them before they escalate—ideally before the CEO notices.
- Use data and automation tools to improve operations, reduce manual work, and drive better decisions.
- Recruit, manage, and support team members, bringing in experts when needed and helping others succeed in their roles.
Growth Opportunities/Perks:
- Paid training and professional development to keep you growing
- 2-weeks paid vacation and sick leave
- Performance-based bonuses to reward your impact
- Potential profit sharing as the company scales
- Opportunity to grow into CEO-level responsibilities and lead at the highest level
